Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?
Oceanus Plumbing & Drain proudly serves Medina, OH, and the surrounding Northeast Ohio communities. You can check some of the towns we serve here
What are your primary plumbing specialties?
While we handle a wide range of plumbing issues, we specialize in high-impact solutions to keep your home or business running safely. Our core focus areas include comprehensive sewer repair, high-pressure hydrojetting, water heater repair and installation, and certified backflow testing and prevention.
What is hydrojetting, and why would I need it instead of traditional snaking?
Traditional snaking is great for minor, localized clogs. However, if your sewer line is heavily backed up with years of grease, scale, or invasive tree roots, snaking will only punch a temporary hole through the blockage. Hydrojetting uses highly pressurized water to scrub the entire interior of your pipes clean, restoring your sewer lines to a like-new condition and preventing future emergencies.
Do I really need annual backflow testing?
If you own a commercial facility or have a residential irrigation system, yes. The state of Ohio requires annual testing to ensure contaminated water does not flow backward into the clean municipal water supply. Oceanus is fully state-certified to perform backflow testing, repairs, and prevention services to keep your property compliant and safe.
How do I know if I need a new water heater or just a repair?
If your water heater is over 10 years old, leaking from the tank base, or producing rusty water, it is generally time for a replacement. If it is a newer unit simply producing less hot water, a simple repair or thermostat adjustment might be all you need. Our technicians will provide an honest, on-site diagnostic to help you make the most cost-effective choice.
My basement flooded from a burst pipe. Do you handle insurance claims and water damage cleanup?
Our immediate priority is stopping the leak and fixing the plumbing infrastructure. While 99% of standard plumbing wear-and-tear is not covered by insurance, sudden catastrophies—like a pipe burst—often are.
For the water damage cleanup and restoration process, we partner seamlessly with our trusted preferred contractor, Back to Normal (BTN). Lance and his team at BTN will step in right after we secure the plumbing to mitigate the water damage, handle the complex insurance claims, and restore your home to its original condition.
Do you offer financing for major plumbing repairs?
Yes! We believe that essential plumbing solutions shouldn't drain your savings. We partner with a trusted financing provider to offer flexible payment plans, including interest-free options and custom terms. This allows you to tackle major projects—like a sewer line replacement or a new water heater installation—without the stress of upfront costs.
